Atlantic News has won Magazine Canada's Retailer of the Year Award !!

I was registered to go to Magnet, Magazine Canada annual conference. I had particularily wanted to hear Lewis Laphams talk. He was the editor of Harpers for 30 years and most recently began publishing Laphams Quarterly, "whole range of western thought by the council of the dead". Barb, from Magazine Canada called me up to ask if I was coming (yes) and was I registered for the luncheon or the reception (no), when she told me that we were going to be their guest and why! This inaugural award was presented to Atlantic News because it is an "outstanding retailer who goes the distance to provide customers with access to diverse titles." The Retailer of the Year is "a visionary. a connoisseur, and a vital link in Canada's vibrant magazine industry" Wow that seems like quite heady stuff for me!
