History repeats itself

Same story seven years later!

I was doing some office reorganisation when I came across the following: Publisher's Niche Titles May Weather Recession Best  dated Dec 17 2001. The article goes on to say that "Enthusiasts publications may not be recession-proof but they seem to weather economic storms better than the average mainstream monthly." Here we are again this time in a worse economic situation. Niche titles will still play an important roll in the magazine industry but we will see more magazines close up shop. The niche title field will narrow so that instead of 5 different magazines on a niche subject there will now be 2-4. Which we see as a bonus because it will be easier to see the titles on the shelf!! We are fairly optimistic about the year ahead. For many people magazines are a pleasure and a treat. They are fairly easy to purchase when they are being careful about their pennies.

I was born in Yarmouth and grew up in Chester. I have lived on a sailboat, travelled to Zimbabwe, and lived in England where I worked in a fabulous country house hotel. While in England I met Stephen and then brought him home to Nova Scotia. Now I am a wife, mother of two great kids, and a businesswoman. Life is good.
