Atlantic News has provided Halifax and all of Nova Scotia with newspapers, magazines, cards and books for over 50 years. Serving our community is as important as being a centre of the community. While few newsstands remain, we continue to be a hub where information is gained, exchanged and shared.
New Ownership
In December 2023, Atlantic News changed ownership for the second time. Founded by Pat Doherty in 1974, Michele and Stephen Gerard(pictured right with Chris) ran the store for nearly 30 years. New owners, Chris Green and Kate Swope, are dedicated to providing a place of community for consumers of the written word, both narrative and news, and also for local artists and authors who produce ideas and content that connect us here in the Maritimes.
